Have you seen Jonathan Meade’s television presentations? I hadn’t either until quite recently. Now I’m addicted. His appearance as a sort of dry-witted, literate, well-informed, sardonic undertaker passing judgement on the world’s architecture and attendant history is, to me, quite wonderful. I enjoy this sort of bunraku-puppeteer approach (you can’t see me, can you?) to TV presentation and have become quite a fan of his view of the world from behind dark glasses.
