Today let’s consider the work of another animator, Poland’s Piotr Kamler. The Heart, from 1973, is a good introduction to his world. It is described as, “the philosophical tale of a lunar clown’s desperate love for a young lady, in a clock that’s stopped working.”

His short films are marvelous, but his masterpiece so far is Chronopolis, an hour-long science fiction tale of a sky-going city and the immortals that inhabit it. The complete film can be found online in multiple parts and is well worth the time.
