Three very cool musicians/musical groups from France. The first you know, but the last two might be new. All are quite wonderful and worth more exploration.

First, Django Reinhardt, from the great Swing it Lightly LP. Django recorded the electric guitar solo in 1953. Then, in 1968, the Guitars Unlimited added backgrounds, and the result is gorgeous – the type of music that can only make you happy.

Then, Pascal Comelade. He’s hard to characterize or describe. He’s well…very much his own creation. Here’s Stranger in Paradigm.

Finally, the wonderfully demented swing of Caravan Palace.
